Examinations leading to Goethe Institute Certificates

Examinations FIT A1, FIT A2 and B1j are for young students 15 years of age or under
Examinations at B1, B1j , B2 and C2 are modular examinations which means that candidates can choose upon application either to sit for ALL 4 modules in one session or for seperate modules.
Candidates will be issued with one certificate at B1, B1j , B2 and C2 levels only if they pass in all 4 modules in one session. Otherwise a separate certificate will be issued for each module passed.
Candidates can apply for a resit at the next available session. Candidates at B1, B1j, B2, C1 and C2 levels can opt to resit for the failed module/s only. The modules are: Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen
Requests for a change in the scheduled examination date must be supported by official documentation and the Examination Centre reserves the right not to accept such requests. The Examination Centre is not bound to give any reason for refusal to change dates. Requests for examination date changes approved by the Examination Centre carry an additional fee of Euro 50
All fees paid are non-refundable for whatever reason.


Permanent and temporary residents in Malta of German or Maltese nationality, not below the age of 18 years of age are eligible for membership to the German-Maltese Circle. Bona fide students between the ages of 14 and 18 are accepted as Junior Members.

Section of the Dorothea von Wendland Library

The Library at the German-Maltese Circle is named after Dorothea von Wendland, the wife of a former German Ambassador, who in the early 1970’s was instrumental in the setting up of a lending and reference library in the former premises of the Circle in Floriana.
