Course A1 : Grundstufe I – Beginners’ Course leading to CEFR Level A1:
Aim: Course leads to the internationally recognised Goethe Institut START 1 Certificate. This course is intended for those who wish to start learning German right from the beginning. No previous knowledge of the language is required. Conversation and simple communication situations form part of this course.
Structure: 30 lessons of 150 minutes each between October 2023 and May 2024
Day and time of lessons:
Class 1: Lessons on Tuesdays at 5.30pm (BOOKED)
Class 2: Lessons available on Thursdays at 5.30pm (Applications Now Being Accepted)
First Lesson:
Class 1: Tuesday, 3rd October 2023 at 5.30pm
Class 2: Thursday, 5th October 2023 at 5.30pm
Course fee including membership: €362.00 (not refundable once course starts)
Course fee does not include textbooks and examination fee.
Outcome: On successful completion of this course, students should have achieved Breakthrough Level (A1) of the Common European Framework of Reference. Students would be able to understand and use familiar, day-to-day expressions and simple sentences, and would be able to introduce themselves and others. Students would be able to ask other people basic personal questions and respond to such questions themselves and have the ability to conduct a basic conversation provided the other speakers speak slowly and clearly and are willing to help.
