| Plot |
| Michaela (Sandra Huller) is a deeply religious young woman, who has never ventured far from her family in small town Germany. She has also struggled with epilepsy all her life, but despite these issues she leaves home to study at university. Soon Michaela befriends Stefan (Nicholas Reinke), whom she begins to fall for, and Hanna (Anna Blomeier) and they begin to bring her out of her shell. Unfortunately coming out of her shell causes her to have an epileptic episode far beyond normal. The episode seems frighteningly like possession to the deeply religious Michaela and she seeks help from a priest (Jens Harzer) who further enforces that belief. Her newfound friends hope to break her free from the religious upbringing and urge her to seek psychiatric help, but they are unable to save Michaela from her fate. |
